Marketing your home on Facebook

The real estate market these days is on FIRE! That still does not mean that just because you want to sell your home it will sell right away and for top dollar. Putting together the right marketing plan for selling your home is the key to success.

The days of print ad and real estate books are dying, some will argue not so much but for the large bulk of millennial buyers it is dead. My biggest philosophy on where your home should live and breathe comes purely from a millennial mind set. I know you can imagine where I am going with this and yes it is Facebook. I can imagine right now you found this blog post by clicking on the link through Facebook. Don’t you think if you can find all this information about people’s lives you should have your home for sale show up in the same feed? I sure believe so!

Let’s run this down with roughly 214 million Facebook users in the US I think it is safe to say it is a popular site to be on. Being a real estate agent I know the power of Facebook and I know it works because I have tried it with great success first hand. I recently posted a client’s home for sale through a targeted ad and at the open house come to find out a gentleman saw the ad, told his sister and she ended up buying the home for over asking price!

If you are looking to sell your home in this day of age your home needs to live on the web and especially Facebook. If you are interviewing an agent to sell your home an obvious question is what do you do for marketing? If the agent does not reply by saying Facebook ask them if they use it, and if they do ask to see some of their old campaigns. It is very easy for someone to pull up all their old ads show you the view counts, objectives and reach of each ad. With the thousands of dollars you spend to contract with an agent you need to make sure they put your listing to work. To simply say the market is crazy and this listing will sell itself is not enough. Without pushing your home for sale to the max you never really know what the true potential of the listing may be.
